When you’re a beloved gastropub chain well known for your decadent, hand-crafted burgers, it can be a challenge to convince loyal patrons to abandon menu favorites in favor of something different. But Bar Louie’s LTO That’s My Jam! Burger proves that creative craveable combinations can win over new converts. “Fans are begging us to make this a permanent menu item,” says Steve Madonna, Senior VP of Culinary. “It’s layered with favorite flavors, making it approachable and executed with unique flare. We love how this burger really hits all the senses.”
A seasoned meat blend (brisket, short rib and chuck) patty is grilled on a flattop, then topped with applewood-smoked bacon, herby cheese and arugula for a peppery finish. But the hero ingredient is a housemade bourbon old fashioned jam that adds a rich, sweet touch. While the jam is a signature flavor profile that’s been incorporated into other menu items, it was time to move it into a starring role, says Madonna. “By making it the centerpiece of the That’s My Jam! Burger, we’ve revived a new appreciation for this delectable jam.”
