Texas Pete® Rub Grilled Ribs and ¡Sabor! BBQ Sauce

Sponsor: Texas Pete

Servings: 24

Ingredients

¡Sabor! BBQ Sauce:

  • 4 c ketchup
  • 1/3 c Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ c ¡Sabor! by Texas Pete® Mexican-Style Hot Sauce
  • ¾ c vegetable oil
  • 6 oz brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Ribs:

  • 1 c Texas Pete® Dust Dry Seasoning
  • 1 ½ c brown sugar
  • 8 pork ribs racks, fresh or thawed

Directions

For the BBQ Sauce:

  1. Combine all ingredients together and mix until incorporated.
  2. Cover and refrigerate until needed.

For the Ribs:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the Texas Pete® Dust and sugar. Mix until blended.
  2. On the bone side of the ribs, make two sets of score lines across the bones.
  3. Rub the Dust and sugar mix into both sides of the ribs. Allow them to rest for 2 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  5. Place the ribs on a rack in a 4-in hotel pan. Add a layer of water below the rack, making sure the water does not touch the ribs. Wrap the hotel pan with plastic wrap and then aluminum foil. Slow roast for 2 1/2 hours.
  6. Once the ribs are out of the oven, make sure that all rib tips are exposed to ensure they are cooked enough. Allow them to cool completely before cutting and grilling.
  7. Once cooled, cut the ribs into two-bone pieces.
  8. Prepare a grill. Season the grill to prevent sticking.
  9. Heat pieces bone-side down first, until bone tips sizzle and color. Flip ribs on to meat side to make sear marks, approximately 2 minutes per side. Verify internal temperature of 145⁰F.
  10. Pull ribs from the grill and sauce liberally with ¡Sabor! BBQ sauce.
  11. Serve 2 two-bone pieces with 2 oz of BBQ Sauce.
