Serving Up Hope

CORE’s mission to support restaurant families in need

At the heart of the American restaurant industry exists a profound and important mission—a mission to serve up hope to those who serve us daily. That mission is called CORE: Children of Restaurant Employees. CORE announces their Fall campaign called “Serving Up Hope,” an initiative designed to unite the restaurant industry and its millions of patrons to make a difference in the lives of restaurant employees with children faced with a life-altering health crisis or natural disaster.

CORE’s “Serving Up Hope” campaign is more than just a charitable endeavor; it’s a lifeline for those who labor behind the scenes, ensuring that our dining experiences are memorable and enjoyable. With your support, CORE can provide financial assistance to qualifying restaurant employees like Sarah – a manager at a casual dining restaurant whose home and place of employment was destroyed due to the Maui wildfires in August 2023, leaving her and her young daughter homeless. CORE was able to provide Sarah and her family with financial support within days of her application. “Because of CORE, my daughter and I have a better chance at getting our basic needs met,” she said, “Mahalo!”

At the heart of this campaign are various ways for restaurant operators, suppliers, and individuals to make a significant impact in the lives of the families CORE helps.

So, what’s the recipe for hope? Choose when and how you’d like to Serve Up Hope with full flexibility and turn-key resources provided by CORE at your fingertips!

1 Restaurant Operators can host in-store promotions such as round-ups, menu promotions, bounce back offers, and much more to show their support to the industry, and inspire guests to participate and make direct donations to CORE.

2 Restaurant Suppliers can make direct donations, partner with operators on product promotions, donate on behalf of their customers, donate on transactions or services, and much more.

3 Individuals who cherish their dining experiences can contribute to CORE directly, helping fund grants that make a difference in the lives of restaurant employees.

4 Participate in Giving Tuesday: On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, a Global Day of Giving called “Giving Tuesday” takes place. Make a direct donation or become a match-donor to double the impact CORE makes in the lives of qualifying restaurant families.

5 End of Year Giving: As the year ends, consider including CORE in your year-end giving plans to provide hope and assistance where it’s needed most.

Whether you’re a restaurant operator or supplier looking to partner with CORE, or an individual ready to make a personal contribution, your involvement in this campaign can make a world of difference.

Join CORE in this heartwarming journey, where we can Serve Up Hope to restaurant employees with children faced with a life-altering health crisis or natural disaster together.
