The Smoked Wings at R&R Barbeque are larger-than-average jumbo wings and feature rich, smoky flavor. But what makes them a real fan favorite? They are deep fried in tallow, says Emery Winward, chief operating officer of the classic barbecue concept. “Once we switched to frying in tallow, it really brought out the flavors,” he says. “This has become an extremely popular menu item. We haven’t traditionally been known for our wings, but now, as soon as guests try them, they declare them the best wings they’ve ever had.”

The wings are seasoned with a signature spice blend and then smoked low and slow before being deep fried until crispy. Customers can request them “naked” or tossed in Buffalo or barbecue sauce. “They’re a delicious, smoky, crispy, jumbo wing. You’ll first be hit by the sauce choice but then get bursts of flavor from the proprietary seasoning we use, plus the tallow and the smoke,” says Winward. “We only use jumbo wings, so you can really taste the flavor profile throughout each bite. The size of the wings and their overall taste are unmatched.”
