Labneh adds global flair to morning menus
As brunch continues to serve as a proving ground for globally inspired flavors, labneh is becoming a natural fit for morning dayparts. At Reem’s, a restaurant that serves modern Arab street food in San Francisco, Some Like It Harra layers labneh with a six-minute egg, chile morita, fresh herbs and Arabic bread.
The dish demonstrates how labneh can anchor a breakfast plate much as cream cheese, sour cream, savory yogurt or whipped ricotta might, while contributing a unique flavor profile. Its cooling qualities also create balance against smoky chiles and richly cooked eggs.
