Snack Bites With Grown-Up Flavor

Snackable formats continue to gain traction across quick-service menus, fueled in part by Gen Z’s preference for all-day snacking and smaller, more flexible eating occasions. Tropical Smoothie Cafe is leaning into that opportunity with its new Toasted Snack Rolls platform, a trio of portable offerings designed to pair with the brand’s smoothies and satisfy growing demand for protein-forward snacking. The lineup includes Bacon Chipotle Chicken, Turkey Bacon Honey Dijon and Hawaiian Heat, each wrapped in a toasted flour tortilla and built around bold, craveable flavors.

Among the three, the Hawaiian Heat showcases the platform’s tropical sweet-heat potential. “We start with grilled chicken and cheese wrapped inside a snackable tortilla, then toast it until the outside is crisp and golden and the inside is warm and melty,” says Chris Runkle, director of culinary. It’s finished with housemade pineapple salsa and the brand’s signature sweet-and-spicy Caribbean jerk sauce. “What makes this item special is the contrast of flavors. Together, the layers create a bold, tropical-inspired bite that is savory, sweet, spicy and fresh,” he adds.

Developed as a snack offering designed to complement the brand’s smoothie line, the Toasted Snack Rolls also deliver on protein, with each variety providing more than 20 grams. According to Runkle, the platform performed exceptionally well in testing before launching nationwide in May 2026.
