Managing Editor

Katie Ayoub is managing editor of Flavor & The Menu. She has worked in foodservice publishing for more than 16 years and on the Flavor team since 2006. She won a 2015 Folio award for her Flavor & The Menu article, Heritage Matters. In 2006, she won “Best Culinary Article” from the Cordon D’Or for an article on offal.

Before her tenure as managing editor, she served as editor in chief of Sizzle magazine, contributing editor to The National Culinary Review and managing editor of Chef magazine. Katie has written for many foodservice publications, including Culinology, Foodservice Director and Pizza Today. Katie is also a media consultant for foodservice manufacturers, specializing in custom Web writing, romance copy and e-Newsletter content packaging.

Katie currently serves on the board of IFEC (International Foodservice Editorial Council) and has been an active member since 2000. With English parents, a Canadian husband and a childhood spent primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean, Katie enjoyed global mash-ups before it became a trend. One of her favorite flavor combinations is lime, salt, sugar and tequila. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1992 and currently lives in Chicagoland. Katie is a wife, mother of two, and overlord of too many pets, including a yellow lab named Honey and a lovable bearded dragon named Lenny.
